'One of the hardest email's I've ever had to write...'

'One of the hardest email's I've ever had to write...'

That's how the email started... a parent giving me notice this am... these children have been with me from the very start when I opened my childcare business 2 years ago. They are moving out of London, to the country, so a little bitty far to come to me.
I love these kids dearly and get on so well with the folks, especially mum.

I have already filled their vacancies as I have been expecting this notice for a while now (they've been waiting to exchange and he needs to start school in September). But when you get the actual notice it still hits home in a big way.

Black and white.

This is the part of the job I hate the most. Saying goodbye.

  1. You can rest comfortably knowing you have given them a great, loving foundation over the two years you had them.

  2. I understand completely! Three months ago I left a family I had been with for 2 years (the twins were 8 weeks old and sister was 2 when I started).

I miss them terribly, though I am blessed to be able to call mom and dad and suggest they need a night out so I can go over from time to time:-)

  6. as a parent who has a childminder I know how valuable it is to have one you get on with. there is some kind of loss attached to that but they look like fab children and you will have fab memories and I am sure stay in contact! my childminder is amongst my group of friends now and will be long after my daughter stops going to her!!!
